On Sundays, We Play

Shot as a visual ethnography composed of participant interviews and observational recordings, this film documents the social world of migrant domestic workers who play volleyball on Sundays at the site of Singapore’s old airport in Kallang.

Hear the women talk about their experience as migrant domestic workers in Singapore and the special meaning volleyball plays in their lives, and witness how they bring to life the quiet and disused space of Old Terminal Lane every Sunday.
