Using ethnographic methods of community immersion and observation, interviews, photography, and film, our research documents the social worlds and cultural practices that emerge from informal sporting activities among marginalised migrants in urban cities.

Our qualitative city case studies present the kinds of urban participation that informal sport and leisure in public or quasi-public spaces generate for migrants that reshape democratic inclusivity in the city.
